Planting Design:
My aim is to create a sustainable and beautiful planting scheme that will define the character of your garden, working with its sense of place. This is my step by step design process -

-
Initial client meeting (free) - Meeting to discuss the new planting scheme (including a client questionnaire). This will be followed by a proposal, detailed brief and estimate for your approval.
-
Site appraisal - If you decide to proceed, a further visit may be needed to discuss the planting design project in more detail and to carry out a more detailed site appraisal. This will record key points relevant to designing the new planting scheme such as soil type, aspect, degrees of sun/shade and established plants.
-
Mood Board; Planting Plan & Plant List - The next step will be to prepare a Mood Board of suggested plants. Once the plants are agreed, I will prepare a Planting Plan showing the siting of each plant within the new scheme. Also a Plant List specifying the name and quantities of each plant - again for your approval. An elevation of the proposed planting can be provided if wished. The completed documents will include a final version of your Planting Plan, Plant List and Plant Images.
-
Sourcing plants - Once the Plant List and budget are agreed, I can carefully source the plants.
-
Preparing for planting and setting out/planting - I can improve the soil ready for planting and set out the plants/carry out the planting.
-
Maintenance Plans - If required, an easy to follow Maintenance Plan can be provided for your new scheme.

Planting Design Consultancy
I can also offer a consultancy service to help you develop or refresh the planting in your garden or a specific area of the garden.
This includes a detailed pre-visit client questionnaire and around a 1 hour site visit followed by a report including a site appraisal, suggestions for improving the soil and Plant Lists of suggested plants.
